LEADING shipping company, SuperFerry, is giving travelers cheaper options to go to Caticlan, Aklan, known as the gateway to the world-renowned beach island of Boracay Boracay and Odiongan, Romblon, which will have its inaugural today, with rates starting at R999.00 for Caticlan and R844.80 for Odiongan, one-way and inclusive of taxes.
The new low fares come in the heels of SuperFerry’s announcement that its discounted fare promo "Mega Tipid Trips" will now be a year-long program, cutting fares to as much as 50 percent.
Odiongan trips will carry on regularly every Wednesdays, while the Caticlan route, which started last March 25, is scheduled every Mondays and Saturdays.
SuperFerry AVP for Sales and Marketing Andrew Deyto said that there are a lot more advantages when taking its ships. "First, our fares and food onboard are affordable. Second, every vacation starts already as soon as passengers board SuperFerry, so it’s a less stressful travel. Finally, we can accommodate higher baggage requirements for passenger belongings."
"Once our passengers go on board SuperFerry, they will immediately feel the difference with the clean facilities and our gracious and hospitable hotel crew. We also provide clean and comfortable accommodations that exude a homey atmosphere. Plus, we serve affordable food onboard. Most importantly, we are the only shipping company that maintains its whole fleet accredited by the International Ships and Port Facility Security Code that ensures the safety and security of our passengers," he added.
Deyto also shared that SuperFerry will likewise cater to the small- and medium-sized business owners who seek a transport provider that can accommodate their much heavier baggage requirements.
Caticlan, boasts of a thriving small and medium enterprise (SME) market for piña cloth production, gifts and houseware, metalcraft, cutflower, and clay and furniture.
Although several transport companies go to Caticlan regularly, Deyto believes only SuperFerry can offer a unique sea travel experience that other transport modes fail to deliver.
Deyto also highlighted that SuperFerry offers free shuttle service from its port in Caticlan to the different towns and cities within the Panay Island. "We don’t only cater to the tourists going to Boracay but also to the passengers visiting the adjoining towns and cities in Panay."
Meanwhile, Odiongan, a progressive municipality in the hilly coastal town of Tablas Island in Romblon, was chosen by SuperFerry due to limited transportation options available for its local residents and small and medium businessmen to travel to Manila and to major cities nationwide. With the opening of the SuperFerry port in Odiongan, local tourism and trading opportunities, which include cutflower, fish culture and processing, cottage, garments, and other businesses, is expected to benefit tremendously.
"We believe that Odiongan and the province of Romblon is a strategic location and by providing an option for travel among the residents and business owners, we hope to spur tourism and help drum up economic activity in the area," he said.
"Traveling via SuperFerry is definitely more practical and convenient especially because we offer low-cost fares while giving added value through better services."
