PLYMOUTH TO FRANCE BY FERRY IN JUST THREE HOURS
Date : 20.02.08 A new ferry service is being launched in Plymouth tomorrow crossing the Channel in just over three hours, for £10 return.
The Brittany Ferries high-speed service to Roscoff in France will run for just five days as a trial.
The ferry company is holding the same-day return promotion from tomorrow until Monday on its high-speed catamaran, the Normandie Express. The vessel is the largest high-speed ferry in the English Channel, propelled by hydrojets to reach a cruising speed of almost 50mph.
The catamaran, which can hold 850 people, normally operates from Portsmouth, but the firm is trialling it from Plymouth while the Pont l'Abbe ferry, which usually serves Plymouth, has its winter refit.
Drivers can take a car across for just ?15 subject to car size. Passengers will spend three-and-a-half hours in France before the return trip.
