Austal and Terma discuss future business opportunities
13:45 GMT, November 25, 2011 Sydney, NSW, Australia | Members of senior management from leading global shipbuilder and defense prime contractor Austal and Denmark-based aerospace, defense and security company Terma met during the Federation of Danish Industries delegation visit to Australia.
The meeting marked the relations between the companies and allowed senior management representatives to discuss future business opportunities for the defense and security markets worldwide.
"In the course of our business as a leading supplier to the Royal Australian Navy and prime contractor for the U.S. Navy and various Australian and international security agencies, Austal has used the products and services of a large number of prestigious defense contracting companies. Although we haven’t formally contracted with Terma to date, we recognize Terma as a quality supplier and continue to pursue opportunities for us to do business with them," said Chris Pemberton, Austal’s Head of Defence Sales.
"We know Austal as an internationally recognized supplier of advanced naval vessels and we intend to investigate the possibilities for future joint business opportunities within naval combat management systems, naval radars, and ship self-protection systems," said President and CEO of Terma Jens Maaløe.
