BISSAU (Xinhua) -- Guinea-Bissau’s Prime Minister Carlos Gomes Junior was on Friday at the Bissau port to preside over the ceremony to launch two new ships which were purchased from Greece.
The two ships will help to open up the 80 islands of Bijagos archipelago which is situated on the southwest parts of Bissau.
The head of government said that the two ships which cost 2 million euros, were bought with the country’s own internal resources.
He said that the first ship which is christened Baria, has the capacity to transport 300 passengers and 56 vehicles while the second one can carry 150 passengers and 29 vehicles.
