Incat Insider Issue 005
I have just returned from visiting Pingtan Island, China after inspecting our 98 metre high speed Incat ship which recently arrived in China from Canada. Whilst there, the Chinese mainland and Taiwan launched a pilot travel program that will allow mainland travellers to visit Taiwan individually. Statistics show that Chinese mainlanders made 930,000 trips to Taiwan in 2009 and 1.63 million in 2010. The number is expected to exceed 2 million in 2011 due to individual tourists.
Due to its importance to Incat's ongoing business in the region, having the Minister, Mr David O'Bryne with us gave us access to senior government officials which will provide us with an excellent platform for future business sales.

99 metre hull 069 was commenced late 2010, the first few months devoted to building and adapting jigs, cutting of aluminium extrusion and plate at the Incat Plate Shop which was then transferred to the 2D (2 dimensional) pre-fabrication area. As 2D sections are completed they continued to be either transferred to the shipyard or across to 3D for the next stage of modular construction.
