A dangling anchor has caused minor damage to the Coastal Inspiration, the second of B.C. Ferries' three Super-C Class Vessels, as it heads towards Vancouver Island.
Currrently refueling in Ensenata, Mexico, the Inspiration also ran into some bad weather on the weekend and was forced to change its course.
The Inspiration is still expected in Nanaimo's Departure Bay later next week, perhaps Wednesday or Thursday.
The Coastal Renaissance, now on the Nanaimo-West Vancouver route, was also damaged on its voyage from the German shipyards where it was built to the Island, during its passage of the Panama Canal.
