About the 2005 Show
The following is an article published in Seatrade Cruise Connection Quarterly/June 2005
2005 Attendee Survey Shows Impressive Results
Following this year's event, CMP Princeton launched a major web-based, comprehensive survey aimed at all 9,746 attendees at the event. Trade show visitors totaled 5,390 of which 1,096 were cruise line owners and operators representing 73 different companies.
Key findings indicate a very strong performance of the show and positive return on investments for exhibitors, conference attendees and visitors. Some interesting facts are as follows:
* The 2005 Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention attracted a high quality audience of attendees who recommend, specify or make the final purchasing decision. This net buying influence accounted for 91.3% of the attendees of which 47% had the final say.
* 34.4% will purchase in the 1-3 month time range. 27.5% will purchase in the 3-6 month time range. The balance will purchase within the year or more.
* On an annual basis, 49.4% of the attendees have a purchasing power of 0-$100,000; 24.9% fall in the range of $100,000-$500,000; 19.9% fall between $500,000-$5M; and 5.7% fall in the greater than $5M range.
* Types of products being sourced include 43.4% ship equipment, 46.4% ship services/hotel operations, 58.2% destinations, 25.4% food & beverage, 20.6% design services, 38.5% information technology, and 10.8% entertainment technology. (Some attendees source more than one product range)
* 91.3% did find the products and services they were looking for at the 2005 Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention.
* 89.8% plan to attend next year
Methodology: A systematic probability sample of 9,746 registrant email addresses with a response of 1,999 completed surveys. Study was conducted via internet.
